It is reported from Kispiox Valley that deer are becoming noticeably scarcer due to the activity of cougar in that district while at one farm near Walcott in the Bulkrey Valley 30 head of sheep were destroyed by bear arid timber wolves. One large black bear and one large timber wolf were shot at this location but others that were seen got away. Lack of ammunition for distribution to farmers may have some bearing on the situation but, unless something is done In the way of Increase of bounty on wolves and cougar or more facilities for eliminating them are brought about, there Is likely to be such increase that it will work an added drawback to farming In the more outlying areas.
