Copy is Appreciated Crownins of Queen Coronation Ceremonies Saturday Night Over Largest Carnival Crowd Ever Here The crowning of Olga Sather as queen of the largest and most successful carnival Prince Rupert has ever had took place Saturday night on the Seventh Street grounds in the presence of a' crowd of enthusiastic citizens which numbered several thousand and which all evening milled through the various attractions of the carnival lending their support to the civic centre fund. Full regal formalities marked the coronation which was carried out with due ceremony from the main platform of the car nival. There was a guard of honor provided by a Saskatchewan regiment in charge of Capt. A. O. Anderson and the queen was preceded to the crowning dais by the page, boys who carried the crown and the sceptre and the dainty little flower girls. The charming queen was escorted by Lieut. Glen Turner of Moq'se Jaw and followed by the litjle girls who carried the train. The beautiful maids of honor and the two other candidates in the; carnival next ascended to the court, their escorts being Lieut. Al Collingwood ,of Keglna,. Lieut Stirling King of Rcleau.Sask., Lieut. Robert Duff of MDOse Jaw and Lieut. Andrew Waruk of Moose Jaw. T. N. Youngs, chairman of the carnival committee,, spoke briefly, referring to the success of the carnival and thanking the' queen, her attendants and all those who had supported the contest. He then called upon Mayor W. M. Walts who also alluded to the success of the carnival, the substantial pro- ceeds of which would further assure the fruition of the civic centre project. The regal bouquet was of gladioli and asters. The maids of honor, May McElwaln and Thelda. McEwen wore white brocaded satin with lover's knots and white roses and gladioli. Margaret Davidson wore white sheer with heavy embroidery and had a bouquet of purple asters and gladioli. Lillian Wallace's costume was of white taffeta, with bouquet of asters - and gladioli. Dainty little Annette Wendle and Diane Stone, in white taffeta, were the Jralnbearers while the flower girls were demure Margaret Olsen and Myrna Knutson who had blue and pink frocks respectively. The page boys were Jimmy Saville and Terry Shenton, who had long blue trcusers'and white blouses and bow ties. .Mrs. Anneite Woods was in. charge of the costuming and exercised her usual taste and discrimination. Quietly Wedded On Saturday Miss Margaret de Kergommeaux Is Bride of Corp. Adrian Meirs A quiet wedding was held- in the Rectory on Saturday evening. Very Rev. J. B. Gibson officiating, when the contracting persons were Lance Corp. Adrian Meirs of Moose Jaw and Miss Margaret de Kergommeaux, eldest daughter or Lance-Corp. and Mrs. Robert de Kergommeaux of Terrace. Only relatives of the bridal couple witnessed the ceremony. The bride's father being overseas with the Canadian Active Army, in his place the bride was given In .marriage by J Allan Rutherford. The groom was attended by his cousin Private Albert Fro-lick, also of Moose Jaw, and Mrs. J. A. Rutherford was matron of honor. The bride made a charming picture in ankle length gown of palest shell pink mousseline de soie, with leghorn picture hat trimmed with pale blue roses. Her flowers' were white carnations and pink is wee t heart roses. The matron of honor wore an ankle length gown of eau de nil crepe, trimmed with gold embroidery and matching accessories. Her corsage was of peach colored gladioli. The bride's mother, Mrs. Robert de Kergommeaux, wore a charming two-tone ensemble ir? blue crepe with matching 'accessories and corsage of pink gladioli. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Angus Apartments where felicitations of the friends gathered there were offered the happy couple who are making their home in Prince 7.upert for the time VICTORY.
