J. LINNEY (Full Gospel Tabernacle) "Come unto me, all ye that labor and arc heavy laden, and I will give you rest; take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lbwly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt. 11:28-30. So spake the Son who was with God in the beginning, when the Father said: "Let there be light and there was light." In due time the Son was born of the Virgin and became God manifest in the flesh. He grew to manhood and proved by his credentials that He is the "Light of the World" and His Word the only sure guide to our stumbling feet. A young persons once undertook to draw up an inventory of the essential goods of life-health, love, talent, power, 'riches and fame. He showed these to an old elder of the church who pronounced them to be an excellent list but he said: "You have omitted the one important ingredient, without which, your list will eventually become an Intolerable burden." He crossed out the whole and wrote down three words "Peace of Mind." This is a gift from God, he confided, without which Ilf-e This is not my private opinion" he explained: "They are the words of the Master." This was difficult for a young person to j accept but, after rubbing shoulders with the world for 30 years. I have discovered that "Peace of mind, and rest of soul are truly gifts of God." ' In every human nature there may be a desire to achieve power, riches and fame but, whert they become ours, they do not bring the satisfaction we hoped for so much. Wherein did we go wrong? It Li because we failed to rccognizs the dlsca.se of sin. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned." (Rom. 5-12). If we feel that we can Join in a furious race after the mighty dollar, and receive the peace of the Cross, we are suffering from a strong delusion. Peace of mind and rest of soul does not come that way. Where" then shall we look for it? You remember that when Jesus was gathered round the table with His disciples at the j anyway 'tLast Supper" He spoke these words: "This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you." (Lk. 22-20). If we desire peace of mind and rest for our souls we must look to the Cross where the Lamb of God shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins. It is surely" necessary for us to turn from our wicked way before we can experience the blessed gift of peace of mind and rest for our souls of which Jesus spoke. "The Lord Jesus did not come to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved." Our condemnation is cannot be accepted in His sight, found in rejecting His offer' of salvation. Consider the method God the Father used to arrest our attention and reach our hearts. He gave Ills Son Into the hands of wicked men who nailed Him to the cross ana raised the Son of God up between earth and Heaven. As He suffered the unspeakable agonies of the Cross His cleansing blood fjowed from His head, hands, feeUand side. He prayed that we might be forgiven. Talent, power, riches and fame when used for God are all right In their place .but the evidence points to a day when we will leave them all behind, What then? Answer His call today and make sure of eternal life, eternal riches, present and eternal Joys His gifts bring "Peace of Mind" and "Rest to our Souls." Recently the hospital board placed an order for a new respirator pump which was to have cost $110. Then the dealers reported that there had been a 20 per cent Increase In price. As it Is a necessary piece of equip ment, the board decided last night that it should be purchased ERIC BARTON IS MARRIED Overseas Wedding of Social Interest .
