Dr. A. D. Galbraith, its medical director, hopes to overcome the nurse shortage within the next month. With a total staff of more than 80, the hospital will employ 17 or 18 nurses, inducing a matron and assistant matron who will have civil servant status. According to official Chinese sources the Soviets shipped 200 railroad carloads of machinery from Mukdeiv daily, and up to 500 dally from all of Manchuria. Of some 900 factories, employing more than 2,000 persons each, only three were not stripped. Sawlog production for the first three months of this year is 16,- 460,453 board feet, compared with 16,150,309 for the same perjod in 1915. Pole and piling production last month was 130,530 lineal feet, as compared with 561,197 in February .and 410.167 in January. Total so far this year is 1,241,894 lineal feet. Pole ana piling cut for the first three months of last year was 323,846 lineal feet. Tie production was 313 units, as compared with 11.648 In February and 24.959 in January. Number of tics produced during 1I12 first three months of this year Is 30,920 res compared with r3.835.for the same period last year. Cordwood cut last month was -233 cords, while In February it was 76 and In January 528. There were 197 cords cut In March 1945. March sawlog production was made up of the following varieties in board feet: Cedar 103,-636. Spruce 2,982,363, Hemlock 434,518, Balsam 151.930, Jack-pine 319,385, miscellaneous 388,-120.
