Black cod landings during the season from halibut boats which turned to black cod after the close of ths Area Two season, totalled 853,003 pounds. There has been a limited amount of shrimping In the harbor. Recent bad weather has been holding down such little fishing activity as is being attempted. One of the vessels which had a rough time with the elements lately was the well known Margaret I, Capt. (Long Al) Wole, which lost all but nine skates of gear when caught in a violent storm while black codding. A 28-foot glllncttcr, purchased by Louis Lcbourdals, M.L.A. for Cariboo, from B.C. Packers, recently, has been safely transported to the central Interior and is already doing duty on far Babine Lake as an adjunct to the facilities or the guest ranch which the M.L.A "s two sons are setting up there.
