Prfnrc Uunrrt Daily Btvs Tuesday, March 5, 1946 JUNIOR CHAMBER CUTTING LOOSE The Junior Chamber of Commerce wants a divorce from the Senior so that it may completely fulfil Its affiliation with the Canadian Junior Chamber of Commerce, national organization. The Senior Chamber Is not opposing- the petition and, at Its meeting last night, decided to release the Junior Chamber from its constitutional jurisdiction. It was suggested that the Senior Chamber might as well agree harmoniously for the Junior Chamber was going to move in with the national body in any case. TODAY'S STOCKS (Courtesy S. D. Johnston Co. BASKETBALL POT SHOTS There Is every assurance that the basketball series between Prince Rupert and Ketchikan will be played to capacity houses this coming Friday and Saturday. Yesterday afternoon there had been no less than 400 seats sold out of the possible 1400. The Acropolis Hill gym venue for the series was a scene of great activity last, night as both the senior and girls' squads carried out the wishes of their respective coaches and worked their hearts out In preparation for the games. Coach Eddie Gladding of the ladies' section seems to have-overcome any scarcity of talent that might have held up ladies' basketball this year as he had a large turnout of former high school players all eagers to make the trip north. These girls will meet the Bo-Me-Hl lassies oni Friday night's card and they are definitely not Interested in losing before leaving for Ketchikan. Never before has an all-star team showed such enthusiasm as is being displayed by the pres ent outfit as far as workouts and general promotional interest is concerned and, to prove this, all one has to do Is drop up the Acropolis Hill any night between now and Friday and there will be found many, if not all, of those picked for the team prac tising diligently. On Sunday after having spent all afternoon arranging seating and later having a practice game, big Angus Macphee, Sev Dominato and Elmer Clausen returned in the evening to make surp of their penalty shots and stayed with It until nearly midnight. Saturday night will see in the preliminary game the Bo-Me-Hl Business and GAIRDNER'S CONSTRUCTION Jackings - Building - Repairing Alterations ana cement work PHONE GREEN 482 "House of Better Cleaning" - EVENSON'S IDEAL CLEANERS AND LAUNDRY Authorized "FLEX FORM SERVICE" Shapes Dresses Without Guesses Waterproofing a Specialty PHONE 858 Mail Orders Box 99 BERT'S TRANSFER and MESSENGER Stand 303 3rd Ave. W.
