LACROSSE LAUNCHED First Practice and Demonstration Draws Crowd of 200 Over 200 lacrosse fans ami players turned out for a lacrosse practice and demonstration at the Civic Centre gymnasium last evening. Two teams made up of former lacrosse stars put on a snappy game of boxla. After a short introduction to "the fastest game on two feet" by Al Sheardown and three other players were called onto the floor to demonstrate some of the fundamentals of the game, including methods of checking, passing and shooting. Following this, members of the audience were invited to "sign out sticks" and join in the fun. Among the members who took part in the first exhibition game were Bud .Schuman, Fred Graves, Harry Sheardown, Charlie Maun-sell, Harley Louis, Ed Nelson, Bill Blomberg, Bobble Gill, Cliff Silvcrsides, Terry Parsons and a few others. The numerous players who volunteered to take part Included Lewis, Johnson, Hogan. Arntsen, Burns, Pierce, Spring, Scherk, Hamilton, Olsen, Sharp. Hartwig, Frandle, MacDonald, Teng, Ketcheson, Currie, Eids-vik, Richards, Adolf, James Mos-tad and Blackaby. The members of the Macey's basketball team proved that basketball players can readily adapt themselves to lacrosse. Among the basketball players, Haugan was particularly outstanding. Another lacrosse practice will be held In the Civic Centre gym on Friday night.
