HYDE TRANSFER Phone 580 A SPECIALTY PARTIES CHOW MEIN COMMITTEES AT CARNIVAL Organization for Biff Event to Be Held Soon Well Under Way Organization of general community work for the Civic Centre Carnival which starts August 17 and ends August 21 was begun last night at a meeting of interested local groups In the Civic Centre board room at which a tentative list of concession operators was appointed. Civic Centre President T. N. Youngs, who was cnairman of the meeting, emphasized that, a.s usual, the work would be done for community benefit and that r.o concession would be sold. Site of this year's carnival will be on r.IcDrlde Street, at the side of the Civic Centre building for which funds will be raised during the :;ala week. The section of McBrlde Street adjoining the Civic Centre building, and a narrow strip of Second Avenue in front of it, will be fenced off. Thus, fittingly enough, the Civic Centre will be the heart of the Carnival. The concession for hot dogs and coffee will be run again this year by the Women's Auxiliary to the Canadian) Legion, which probably also will operate a tea room. This will be one of the few booths which will be situ ated inside the building itself, the others being in tenis and booths on the outside grounds Refreshments will.be served from the Centre kitchen through the windows, which will be especially hinged to make outside service possible from the kitchen and canteen. The suggested list of organizations ana individuals, who have agreed to take part, or who will be asked, is as follows: Tea Room and Hot Dog counter, Legion W. A. Pop and Ice Cream booth, I.O. D.E. 25 Cent Bingo, Women of the Moose. Personnel Director, Walter Johnson. Concessions, T.N. Youngs, Don Forward, Neil Ross. Stock Room, Mrs. George Rorie. Check Room, Orange Ladies. Novelty Booth, Galloway Rap- Ids I.OJ3.E. or Job's Daughters. Guard of Honor, Sea Cadets. Publicity, R. E. Mortimer.
