STAGE OPENING" GAME In the opener to the main event last night, the Sweet Sixteen quintet was downed by the powerful Bo-Me-Hi Rainbirds 21-11. It was a very one-sided affair right through the first half with the Rainbirds having things pretty well their own way. It was not until a couple of seconds before the end of the first half that the "Sweets scored their first basket. The half time score stood at 11-2 for the Rainbirds. But it was a changed team that came out on the floor tpthe second half. In no time at all the "Sweets" dropped two quick shots to bring the score closer. And the powerful Rainbirds only out-scored their fast learning opponents by one point In this half. High scorer for the garrtfe was Cur'rie of the Sweet Sixteen sqdad with 8 points. Keeping the game under control were F. Calderone and S. Domlnato. Ralnbirds-Vrhain 6, Bill, Mc-Kepzio, A. Hamilton 6, B. Hamilton, Thompson, Howe, Young- man 2, Budnlch 7. Total 21.
