Packers scoring Enree in the third quarter, led by Alex Bill, widened the chasm to 33-24 at three-quarter trme. In spite of a solid offensive by Savoy in the final quarter, they managed to reduce Packers' nine-point lead by only one point. Savoy took excellent advantage of the free shots awarded by the referee. Out of 16 free throws, Savoy players made 12 of them count. Savoys were penalized for seven fouls and Packers made four of the seven shots J count. J Highest Individual scores were i run up by Arney of Savoy with j 13 points and by Calderone of j Packers with 9 points. Girls League High School established a substantial lead in the first part of their weekly game with Peoples Store, pulling up at half time on the long end of an 11-3 tally. Budinich feathered the Rain-bird's nest with 10 of her team's 16 points, scoring 8 of them during the first half. Junior League Grotto overcame an initial disadvantage to defeat Watts & Nickerson in the opening, and keenest came of the evening. The play definitely favored the Clothiers up till half time, when Grotto found themselves on the short end of a 9-6 score. It was definitely understood that there was nothing final about the choice last evening other than that those chosen will play Ketchikan In the comins series and changes may be made from time to time in case other players in the league show Improvement as the season progresses. Outsid of but a few positions (here were many alternate suggestions before final choice was made and in many caws there was no unanimity, a vote having to be taken to settle the Issue.
