Membership dues were set at $15 for the first year, $3 of which goes toward the local club for operating expenses, and $12 tp the provincial organization. An outline of thp objectives of the Automobile Association and Its benefits to members was given by J. Harry Black and Hugo Kraupner, who emphasized thp desirability of motorists in every part of the province working to-gethet as a. body to achieve better highways and lower taxation of cars and gasoline. Speaking of the l'rinre Rupert-Prince George Highway, Mr. lilack lashed out at irres ponsible criticism of the condition of the road, and added: "This load is tops in the province. The southern highways are much worse. We can be proud of our road, but it needs constant attention. I have been told authoratively that it will require the expenditure of $200,000 over a four-year period before it will be ready for black-topphif. If we can get every community organized to fight for it, wp can have it black-topped." Mr. Kra,upncr pointed out the solid support Automobile Assa-ciatlon members throughout the province would lend to its northern branches in their fight for road improvements. The Princp Rupert delegation was thanked by the Terrace club for their organizational effort by C. J. Norrington.
