An audience of 650 was In spired to warm applause by the varied ' presentations at the King Edward elementary school Christmas concert In the Civic Centre auditorium Monday night when 230 pupils of the school took part in recitations, musical numlbers and plays which showed clear indication of considerable rehearsal and talent. Among highlights of the show were Robert Dunn's portrayal of "Scrooge" In Dickens's "Christmas Carol," enacted by Grade Six, and Joyce Pottle's part as the wife of Santa Claus in a Christmas play. Effective costuming of the Grade One pupils in the "Toy Shop at Night" was pleasing to the audience, as was "Three Blind Mice" by the same class. Other outstanding items were "Little Town of Bethlehem" sung by Grade Four, the well-design ed costumes of Grade Five in "The Star Drill" and Grade Two in "The Snowman's Christmas party." The jiupSs were trained and directed by their class teachers. Mrs. Kullander, Miss Peatt, Miss Beale, Miss Maiden, Miss Moxley. Mr. Goscoe and Principal R. G. Moore. Miss Moxley was piano accompanist and trained all the pupils for the musical numbers Announcing of the program was aWy dene by Fred Dunn. Principal Robert, Moore expressed thanks of the .school to the Civic Centre staff for their assistance and F. E. Anfleld congratulated the pupils and teachers for an excellent concert.
