Aware of the need for extreme caution where rifle shooting is concerned they, nevertheless, believe that the excavated area beneath the Civjc Centre build-in.?, which ranges in depth from nine to 25 feet, and runs the full length of the buildin.i. could be made rafe. The location is being given serious consideration. The popularity indoor rifle shooting has been attested by the number of enquiries received at the Civic Centre. Teen Town Vas placed a rifle cjub high on its list of projects, and a move to form an adult club is under way. Safety of properly supervised rifle dhooting has long been recognized in Jtehoals across the country, where school Cadet Ccrps have been in operation with the approval and assistance of the Department of National df fence for years. In many cases, the rifle butts are in school basements. The excavated area under the Civic Centre buildins oMers i com for indoor shooting competitions of standard ranee, and thus would give local teams op portunity to compete in provin cial and lrrter-provlncial smallbore rifle competitions.
