Malr's Auction Rooms Third Avenue East LIFE 'n Pr'nce uPert by BWDEE JINKS Isn't It true that too few of us take time out to be really thankful about anything? And that applies to both sexes because even men must be clean or they're supposed to be I Of course, as you can see, I'm thinking right now about washingand benignly for I have Just taken one in and dry at that! Not that those few remarks convey any special meaning to these creatures who nonchalantly open a drawer and draw out a fresh shirt; for washing has not changed much to them since the day they learned to keep their eyes open and stop burbling. But with us women, It's different. We always did know how to wash. Of course, it Isn't hard to figure out why either for we go through life keeping our selves clean and everyone around us, inner and upper and outer! Not that we all always enjoy It. In fact Monday Is a day I could. skip and still manage to smile! Then too, we often lose sight of the fact that some have it harder than others. I've heard it whispered now and again that women have to keep their own houses clean and do such things as wash windows, remove finger marks from doors and even pol ish floors (that is, If they wart them polished!, and on occa-j sion, swish dust off the places that show most. But talk Is Just j talk, isn't it and so I don't put I much stock In the horrible tale that a few women also wash dishes not once, but three timei a day with extra bake dishes on youth is to be notea In the current style trends. People are wearing clothes that are loose and moderately draped. More ftnd more persons are wearing syorts apparel. Fussy evening wear Is In demand. One of the new trends he has noticed in the designing business is decentralization. In the pa?t the Industry ras centred in laree towns but the newcom er?. Including graduates from the school, are setting up their own establishments In their own homes across Canada. I New Typewriters I . I Just Arrived! Then again, some people's children have a way of getting dirty; even have an affinity for mud good thick mud. Therefore, when I saw three little boys standing in the middle of a lovely mud-puddle, washing themselves delightfully with what nature had prepared, I didn't know whether to weep for their mothersor enter Into the apparent pleasure of the moment. Doing neither, I sld: "Aren't you spoiling your nice shoes?" One spotted cherub glanced down and, seeing the top of one boot still showing evidence of having been white, grinned broadly and announced that "My boots 'o-tay!'" I moved off. I didn't want to be there when any parental authority made an appearance. Not that I had anything to do with it, far from it, but somehow I was much aware hat neither children nor parents have changed greatly since a few years ago when a son of mine, "dressed in all his glory, found a puddle of like beauty. Which really points to the same thing. We don't appre ciate things enough, the small things, the everyday things, Now why shouldn't we be glad that some people, even small people, can enjoy mud? Myself 1 1 hate the stuff, but some folk enjoy dew from heaven In great round, t o r r e n t i a 1 quantities. There again, I'm a total loss. Which puts us right back at the beginning, in that we do not know how to be truly thank ful!
