NEW RAILWAY CAR IS OUT Special Designed Coach to be Ready by Christmas MONTREAL A new type of parsenjer car which has Just been completed for the Canadian National Railways In the company's London, Ont., sheps went into service here today. It Is the first of fourteen to be constructed and of eight expected to be ready for service to handle the Christmas rush of holiday travellers. The new car was designed by officers of the company's mechanical and architectural departments, "It marks an important step in the Caradian National Railway'? post-war replacement and modernization program," said R C. Vaughan, CMO., chairman and president of the systccn, during the official Inspection of the car. "It Is the first of more than 80 new passenger ' cari planned for service in 1947. Given the Impetus of a number of bids that were submitted last night, but did not get on the air, Radio Auction chairman Don Esselmont predicts . that tonight's show will be even more diversified with more presentations. Climax of the radio auction will come tomorrow night when the show will be on the air for an hour and a half, instead of the hour, which It was allotted for last night and tonight.
