J. Alder, on business, is just newly back from Australia where he served as a warrant officer in the intelligence branch of the Canadian Army, having gone "down under" with Canadian Army men who wero on a special mission. In the southern hemisphere for almost a year, Mr. Alder jr. spent eight months at Port Darwin on the northern tip of Australia which I'gtron coffee. 011 seveial occasions was bombed by the Japanese. The enemy showed good marksmanship in its strafing, Mr. Alder said, and direct hits were scored on many buildings such as ths post office and the branch of the Bank of New South Wales.
