Clark Oable-Greer Garson co-starring picture which is playing at the Capitol Theatre today, Friday and Saturday. :The fiproarins cabaret fracas starts when Miss Garson, who has come along to look after her roommate, Joan Blondell, on a date with Gab'.e, is accosted by someone in a Frisco club. Before anyone can say Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, his seagoing buddies from a Pacific freighter and a horde of other people are slinging punches with the abandon of a gin-bending kangaroo. Miss Gar.-on, Mm Blondell and all the other feminine members of the entourage get into the tussle in full force and the general result is a tangle that kept ""HBBDUDOIEHIinHBSni 3 s jL? ays the camermen in a whirl getting the exciting action recorded by their battery of lenses. A couple of times they had' to step fast to avoid getting tagged by a wild swing or a menacingly poised bottle. It all ended witr. nobody in the hospital, but there were a lot of bruises and aching anatomical parts for days afterwards. And according to those who watched the shooting, it was the most exciting doings of the entire season out at the M.G.M. studios. rninAV o rATimrvAv I ana Old Army Buildings Easing Situation OTTAWA Dismantling of former armed services buildings is bringing some relief to contractors hard-pressed for materials to construct houses Despite the acute need for 'housing accommodation because of insufficient building materials much unessential construction is proceeding in the' Dominion. i r amy w Other Items TABLES 5c - 0c - 25c 50c SI -12 pR'ce TABLES Mostly Below Cost Prices Here s a Few Samples! Woman Uses Wings For 25-Foot Jump VIRGIN1ATOWN, Ont., 0 An adventurous Virginiatcwn woman has Invented a pair of wings which she used to Jump from buildings 20 to 25 feet high. Mrs. Phil Golden, the mother of two children, began working on her wings two years ago after dissecting birds in an attempt to learn how they fly. She made the wings of parachute silk, and bits of plastic. They look like a mass of gigantic feather-like air pockets built into even larger feathers. These feathers or air pockets flush the air back through the larger feathers onto a plastic back. In doing so, a vacuum is formed' underneath the outer feathers. The vacuum together with a movab'e outer attachment at the wing tips allows for the possibility of propulsion by means of earnest wrist action. Mrs. Golden said a weak heart so far has prevented her from more stringently testing her wings. Up until now she has been Jumping from platforms at least 20-25 feet in height. Most of her "flying" has been done at i night. She is shy of publicity. 1 40? LADIES' SNUGGIES AND VESTS 25c 35g TO 75g COLLAR AND CUFFS . . . . . . 25c 98?
