With a howling crowd nearly bringing the roof down, Prince Rupert had to fight hard all . . the way to make this game a win. By holding down the ace of the New Metlakatla squad, David, to a mere 22 points; . was able to do much In dis rupting the smooth ball handling that was displayed by the Ala-kans on Tuesday night. The northerners seemed to have a hard time settling down In the first quarter and only In the third quarter did they have a strong offensive. But Rupert was supreme in the shooting and that was what counted. The score at the end ' of the first quarter stood at 13-8 for Prince Rupert. Although they were outscored in the sec-end period, Prince Rupert led at the half 24-20. Both teams came ' back from the breather and played bang-up basketball but Prince Rupert was "hot" and just couldn't be stopped. In the last quarter Lindsay of Prince Rupert found his eye and got must of his 28 points in thfs 'end of the ball game to emerge the high scorer ior the night. The referee and umpire, John ny Comadina and Ed. Atkinson ' were kept hopping in the game' and handed dut a total of 29 foulr. But, although this Is a lot foone game, It was more : of the aggressiveness of the two . teams rather than deliberate fculing that the fouls were caused for. Scorer and timer for the game was kept under ,con-'trol by Syd. Woodside and Vern Ciccone.
