A. Burns of Adelaide. Burns met his wife while serving in England in .1940. He returned to Australia' believing that she would follow soon after. He waited a year and then went back to' England. In England he found, after Waiting some months, that he could not get a passage to Australia for either his wife or himself. So far the organization has held six shpwers for six brides, and there are 12 more in the offing for those yet to come from overseas. Every bride re ceives $50 worth of household merchandise . The bill is footed by the 80 or so members of the Auxiliary, each of whom contributes 25 cents a week toward the gifts. The lucky newcomer receives everything from a 32-pfece set of dishes, flat silverware, breael-box, to a kettle and a frying pan. In addition she Is presented with a pair of woollen blari kets, cotton sheets pillow cases, bath towels and a table cloth.
