This was in addition to many thousands of bottles of whale blood and plasma sent to the British fighting services and used in civilian hospitals In Britain, where transfusion is being used more widely than ever before, especially for surgical and maternity cases. It is a non-profit, non-denominational camp which gives two weeks' vacation and training to Catholic, Jewish, Anglican, Presbyterian and Christian Science children alike. The camp Is situated on a ! rocky, 193-acre Island, and is accessible by a six -mile launch trip from Waugh, Man., through I the island-dotted waters of the !bay. Thirteen United States army pre-fabrlcated huts were brought from Churchill, Man., and used as dwellings for the campers.' A log pavilion and dlnlng-hall, three-bed hospital and smaller cabins have been constructed by the campers. Among the camp leades are Laura Larmour and Dorothy Pearce, both of Reglna, and Ruth Kjarsgaard, MooseJaw. The girls' camp operated July 4-17, and a camp for boys is being held Aug. 1-21. Brief, but laden with entertainment, the show was presented twice as an opening feature. Mary Mack, a rotund professional entertainer and songstress with a wide variety of songs, was mistress of ceremon ies. Her versions of popular songs brought demands for several curtain calls. She Introduced Marguerite Hewsen, fiery-haired tap dancer, whose routines won wide applause, and the Delrays, an adagio and acrobatic team, whieh, in light of the Civic Centre's Interest In gymnastics, was a real hit. j ' Accompanist for the program was Andy McNaughton, whose ' talent at the piano Miss Mack complimented several times. An ancient native, carrying several small slate totem poles, a type of curio which is difficult to obtain now, had a prosperous half hour when he took his stand near Sixth Street. He was Immediately surrounded by a crowd of tourists who commenced lively bidding for his ancentral replicas.
