F. Rushbrook, missionary and ex-rector of St. Peters Church, Seal Cove. He was sitting in his home expect ing two visitors, when he was suddenly .invaded by a household of well-wishers who took him entirely hy surprise, but who were welcomed with his usual hospitality and .good fellowship. The proceedings were given a start by a short address and a toast, proposed by Mrs. Helen Henderson, which extended to ihe honored guest good wishes for good health, long life and happiness. The toast and good wtshrs were replied to by Canon Rushbrook, who with his usual kindliness and appreciation thanked the assembly for their v slt and gifts. Other short addresses were given by Mr. W. B. Skinner, an -old and valued filend, Mrs. W. Davidson, on behalf of St. Peters Women's Aux- j iilary, and George Johnston, who has been leading services at St. Feter's in the absence of a per manent rector. This surprise was .borne into the room by Miss May Skinner, who had made and decorated the cake, which was duly cut by the guest of honor ancLhand-cd round and eaten with all good w.shcs. Thc proceedings closed with the singing of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow", and "Auld Lans Sync." Those present included Mr. and Mrs. W. B.
