Prfnrc Rupert Daflp 13ctu3 Friday, April 12. 1940 "F.D.R." Keep Green the Memory (It is just one year ago since the death of President Franklin I). Kooscvelt) Old Glory flies at mast half high In mourning for one of her sons-One of th greatest who ever lived, one of the noblest ones. When Freedom's cause was threatened, he took the Ship of State; Into the holocaust of war he did not hesitate. All that he hoped and prayed for was to lead a peaceful life Till a hate-crazed fool and his willing tool embroiled the world in strife. O Man of Peace. O Warrior. Beloved the whole world o'er, You gave your strength, you gave your life, we could not ask for more. In the Hall of Fame we'll inscribe your name, in letters of purest gold And when freedom stands in all the lands, the story will be told. God rest you, Sir, you have earned your rest. You have won you sweet repose, Your spirit hand shall guide us from the tropics to the snows. When the brotherhood of freedom meet, coming from near and far, They'll remember forever, ever and eye, beloved "F.D.R." ALEXANDER McEWAN, Prince Rupert.
