Men for underground work at northern gold mine, nunc, .mo experience experience neces Fine Concert By Varden Singers Excellent Entertainment Stated in Booth School Auditorium. A musical entertainment by Varden Singers recently in the Booth Memorial School proved a gay and pleasant affair. There was an excellent program of vocal and instrumental music. Pawl Teranger acted as master of ceremony and, with a brief address, he introduced the singers already on the stage and Peter Lien the conductor. Three selecUons were sung by the mixed choir "Flag Guard," "Dear Land of Home" and "Greeting to Besteraat," the ton of these selections composed by Peter Lien of Prince Rupert. Handel's "Largo" was played by Fred Nordgaard on the violin with Mary Dybhavn at the piano. An instrumental trio consist ing of A. C. Cam,eron, Margaret Johnson and Peter Lien played "Salut D'Amour." and Moment Musical" by Elgar and Schubert respectively. A male chorus of the Varden Singers sang two songs. A. Wallln gave a humorous recitation entitled "The Great Nordic Race" and after this a pantomime was displayed In which A. Wallln was the aggressor and Peter Lien the victim. This pantomime was called 'The Barber Shop." The crude operation was greeted with glee by an unsympathetic audience. F. C. Salter, baritone, sang selected numbers with Mr. Davies at the piano. The Varden Singers next presented "The Lost Chord" i Sullivan) and "Sua tente jeg Mig" after which Mr. Vaksdal, on guitar and mouth organ sim- ultancously played a medley of tunes from various nations. WUlard Johnson presented two humorous Impersonations after which the Varden Singen concluded by singing: The Song" by Spohr, "Norge m iNorge" (Paulsen) and Those Evening Bells" by Sheppard. A good sized audience enjoyed the program and the conductor Mr. Lien, received flowers pre sented by the master of cere mony. neces- tn p. . , 5 Selectlve (Rotary Dealing 22,- fan,,tr f,d c4ham With Resolution ber maid for local hotel.
