Kinsmen Get Charter New Service Club Plans To Be Active Prince Rupert's newly lormed Kinsmen's Club officially came jnw Dcing lasi nignt wnen a charter was presented by Dls trlct Oovernor Fred Grimmett at a banquet In the Commo dore ball room. About 80 members, and guests heard Mr. Grimmett outline the history, alms, and possibilities of service during the prcaen- tatlon ceremony. Congratulations were received from officers of other local service clubs and from Kin clubs across Canada. Guests of honor at the cele bration Included Mayor and Mrs. II M. Daggett, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Scott, Chamber of Commerce; Mr. and Mrs. Colin McCarthy, Junior Chamber of Com merce; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skinner, Gyro ,Club, and It. C, St Clair, Rotary Club. "Tills club has got .off to a very fine start and I wish it 'the best of luck' Mr. Grimmett told the gathering when he presented the charter to Gordon Bryant, president of the local club. "There are great possibilities for local service work and I am sure this club will take advantage of them In replying to Mr. Grimmett, Mr. Bryant outlined the work done by the club to date and forecast an active future for the organization. "We hope soon to establish bathing beaches within walking distance of the city and to have a good start on It by next sum mer," he said. He added that the club had been active In the Hallowe'en shell-out drive and had undertaken the distribution of T.B. Christmas seals. Best wishes were extended by Mayor Daggett and representatives of other service clubs and the chambers of Commerce. All expressed the desirability of Inter-club co-operation In projects beneficial to the community.
