DOGFISHING ON ISLANDS IS POOR NOW . SKIDEGATE, Dec. 18 A few ! boats are still out fishing: dog - 1 fish, but recent catches have ben poor. During the past : season some boats operated ; profitably, but others did not i make expenses. A large fleet of beam trawlers operating In the straits during the pasti season has caused concern among local fishermen. They say that the trawlers destroy all flat fish and crabs with their beam trawls. They also claim that the practice of dumping the dogfish carcasses overboard after the livers have been extracted destroys that area for dogfishing.
