Remains of Mrs. Dawson Coming Back to Rupert The remains of the late Mrs. Silas Dawson, who passed away last Friday morning in Vancouver at the age of ninety-six years, will arrive In the city from the south on Wednesday morning and the funeral will take place that afternoon. Coming north with the remains are two daughters of the deceased-Mrs. M. J. Dougherty and Miss Agnes Son and a son, John Dawson of Calgary. RED CROSS CONCERT (continued from page 1) were well grasped for the band to display Its adaptability and versallty in a wide range of technique and subject type. The novelty pieces, some humorous and some descriptive, gave variety to the program and each one was well received. Possibly the most popular Item on the program was the novel adaptation of "Swanee River" suggesting how it might be played in various localities such a an army camp, the Ozark moun tains by the hill-billies, sleepy Victoria, colorful San Antonio, lively Hollywood, sophisticated New York and. of course. In tti otiginal Stephen Foster manner. The program was as follows: "O Canada." Allied Nations selection "United for Victory" D. Bennett). Overture "Zampa" (L. J. F. Heroid). Polka "Commodore." As sistant Bandmaster Jeffrey, trombone soloist. Waits "Gold and Silver" TOO LATE TO CLASSIFY WANTED Young woman or man to work in grocery store and able to drive car. SelecUve Service AM 112. Imprisoned by the enemy out of the ..battle, yet still with a fighting soldier's heart compelled to wait on the side-lines of the war for the duration surely such thoughts must be the greatest hardships our prisoners of war have to endure. Rrokcn hearts can hurt worse than broken limbs. To such men, in 1M3, went fivc-and-a. half million dollars worth of Red Cross parcels. In them were more than food comforts. To each parcels were reminders that their loyalty and the courage they displayed were not forgotten. The need for Red Cross parcels has grown to staggering proportions. This need must be met by contributions from the men and women in Canada, Let response be immediate and generous. Give money for this work of the Red Cross, work which must be done and which can be performed by no other organization. - CANADIAN ' 'TODAY, TUESDAY and WK Complete Show at 1 ;00.
