Has "faith" subsided to the low ebb of accepting as a fact, the belief that a disease Is lncurable7 Meanwhile, a vague misgiving persists that: Somehow, somewhere there must be an answer'to Incurability. Chlropractically, the greatest handicap to health restoration is: So many cherish a traditional faith or belief to the bitter end. Meantime, a simple disease descends into an Indefinite and complicated realm of lncur-ABILITY. Thus faith and belief hinders, and denies, the natural self-curAE'lLITY within themselves the rightful duty to remedy (meaning: to cure again). Such statements, of disease, special or general are verified by an exhaustive survey. Over 93.000 persons turned, when disillusioned and disappointed, to Chiropractic (Nature) as a LAST resort. Some 410 qualified Chiropractors raised no question as to the merits of faith, belief or, the competency of an7 remedy, to cure again. Nature had preordained that everything was incorporated within. 'Nature's OWN Remedy substituted Incur-ABILITY for cure or marked Improvement In 79,000 cases; or, 85 of tiresome, Intangible disease names. A critical reader may question this astonishing record. For the needy there are two basic considerations: The belief that a condition is obstinately incurable as, against the Chiropractic record with thousands of varied, Incurable cases. Both cannot be right. When faith and belief falls to move mountains, Mahomet must go to the mountain, Possibly, the earnest Health Seeker discerns, by the mountainous record, that everything has not been tried; that, high odds yet remain In his iavor. As Mahomet would resolve: why not . . . NOWI J. L. Miss Leigh Is spending a few days In Prince Rupert on official business and expressed her ap preclatlon of the opportunity tc discuss community problems witr forward-thinking citizens here Miss Leigh has visited all urban and rural centres in the province and she was delighted to find that already in Prince Rupert the citizsns wete undertaking a community survey and that a coordinating commute had been set up to select sub-committees for various areas of interest. With reference to co-ordination, she said that this was a day of co-operative planning, on local, provincial, national, and International levels. To illustrate her point she used the example of the existing co-operation and co-ordination of the Armed services at home and abroad. A further illustration was the co-ordinating council at war services which Vancouver formed in the j first monthi of war in order to nuilfA n llnlfH hnm frnnt YTr as elsewhere, communities were confronted with multiple problems attributable In large measure to the war. Community and family break-downs were preventable insofar as the community became aware of the causes and put forth a planned effort to combat these. Miss Leigh explained that each member of the community anf each organization had its owl particular part to play but. like a car, the parts were of little ust unless properly assembled. Shi warned the women's organtza tlons that they must not los sight of the various men's organ Izatloni, service clubs, etc.. whkt were also doing excellent work ir. the community. The essentia, ihlng was to combine forces. Sht hoped that as a result of tht survey Prince Rupert would ei an example In community planning by taking some decisive action to solve the problems revealed thereby. Because of trie delinquency rate, the Vancouver Council of Social Agencies conducted a survey of existing facilities. As a result neighborhood houses are established and a.e now providing a meeting place for group of all ages. 1 In the discussion that followed was made to Community Chests vs. Tag Days. A point made was that a, community should not undertake changes of this nature without careful consideration. It was felt that a Council of Social Agencies as It existed In larger cities might not be feasible at this time for Prince Rupert whereas a citizen's committee or co-ordinating council would be practicable and 'advantageous. Mrs. J. J. Oillis, President o' the Catholic Women's League, moved a vote of thanks to thr speaker. This was seconded by Mrs. A. L. Haines, lepresentln,' the Prince Rupert Parent Teach ers' Association.
