The conference, which will convene In Montreal on June 12, will take place aboard the Can ada Steamship Line's ship "St Lawrence" while she cruises on the river, and will last until June '10, the council learned from a letter from the Federation read at their meeting last night. The reason for the nautical nature of the conference is that hotel space In crowded Montreal is limited and it was found cheaper and more convenient U a boat were chartered for the purpose. In the same connection a letter was received from the mayor of Nelson urging that every member of the Federation in British Columbia send a delegate to the conference. No action was taken on the matter last night Other than f. motion that the letters be filed and acknowledged.
