D, A week last Wednesday, a somewhat bedraggled lot of young folk wended their weary way home around midnight after spending the evening at Grassy Bay. Rain and 'mud meant nothing to those hardy hikers and despite "waxy" coffee and "muddy" weiners, it was all a picnic should be.- This week the group became ambitious in a more useful way and succeeded to give the church hall an autumn cleaning. A second coat of paint was applied to the kitchen, windows were washed, floors swept and cupboards tidied up. The executive is holding u meeting this week-end to formulate programs for the winter months. LOCAL BOY IS MARRIED IN SOUTH AFRICA Gwilym Hughes, a Prince Rupert born boy who received his early education here,' was married recently at the Congregational Church in Capetown. South Africa, to Miss Eileen Hardy of that city. The groom, now in the Royal Navy, Is the son of the late W. O. Hughes, who lost his life In a fall hers several years ago while carrying on his duties as a customs officer at the local elevator wharf. His mother now lives in Woodgren, London, England.
