In the Carnival Queen contest three organizations have so far kelected their entrants. The Carnival committee re ports favorable progress in each department. Rebekah Lodge Birthday Party One evening last week the Rebekah and Oddfellows gathered to celebrate the twenty-fifth birthday of Centennial Rebekah Locfee No. 40. The Noble Grand, Miss Molly Owens, welcomed the members with a few well-chosen words. Mrs. James Simpson acted as mistress of ceremonies for the evening. Mrs. T. 1L Priest, past noble grand and a charter member of the order, recalled to mind some of the various halls having been used for meetings, also the past noble grands, during the last 25 years. It was mentioned that Mayor H. M. Daggett was the first noble grand of the OddfeJ-lows' Lodge. At the dose of the program Mrs. James Simpson read a patriotic poem that was w ritten by Fred Olscn, caretaker of the hall. Refreshments were served, the centre of attraction being a beautiful birthday cake. Before the cake was cut, Mr. Daggett spoke a few words referring to the first year of the order and of many pleasant memories. The conveners for the evening were Mrs. James Simpson, Mrs J. M. Mclhtyre, Mrs. T. H. Priest. Mrs. J. W. McKlnley and Miss M.
