Ly fRBRPARY 3, 194 Tie Bus Is Late Again I It's raining you're cold and wet and you've been five ten fifteen minutes. You're appointment won't l,o ' - - - ,-' . kept on time all because the bus is late again : And then it did come alonpr. And it was crowded jammed. You pushed your way on board stepped on peopled toes thev x't'jiped on yours. Somebody pushed an elbow in your ril an umbrella prodded the small of your back a man's hat, widen with rain water, dripped down your neck! You're not a little peeved! You say to yourself and perhaps those around you "Why tan't we get better service? Perhaps it would Imj. better if ome-c.nc eke ran the buses in thfr city?" Perhaps it would 'be. ' We flonrt know! 'Hut we do know that the problem of being late and the inconvenience of overloading re beyond control. New buses are difficult to obtain. Road conditions have wrecked all equipment we have. There is one sometimes two r? infrequently, all three buses in the .garage for repairs. Often we are behind schedule because patrons didn't have Mitir fare ready. Sometimes the passenger who gets off at the f irA stop will sit at the rear of the crowded bus. Shoppers with aTcc .-. riding at times of peak loads delay us. Others ride the a busy times when they do not have to do so. Too many ip will et the driver behind. AH our drivers, too, are working tinder a norvous and physical 'rain. Trip after trip, day after day, they must stand the ijcjndincr of the bus rolling over the roads of Prince Ruiert. Sometimes, too, impatient patrons blame the driver for some-tursg t ".at is beyond his control. The driver's life is not always pleasant. But ho is sticking 1 ' is inh. iloinp Ins Ik'xf. Would you tinder these conditions? Help us give better service. Observe these simple rule. Cut :rr: out and hang them where you can rend them every day. 1 Don't ride the .bus unless necessary. L Shoppers will find the 0:30 morning trip the least crowded and the stores ijpt so crowded. Do your shopping then. 3. If you get off at the first stop sit handy to the door. I. Have your fare ready. Keep a dime in your pocket always handy. ? 3. Doir't take bulky pa reals on the bus. (5. Don't try to crowd intpjlhejau ahead of the nest 'person. Keep iu line and take your turn. Un the bus is late or crowded don't blame the drivor. tiding his best.
