To feed the population of liberated areas, Canada has undertaken to provide a large quantity of wheat and flour, which must. bo moved fo the eastern seaboard before the close of lake navigation; in addition, large quantities of munitions and war supplies, as well as current commercial shipments, will have to be transported. As very few cars have been constructed during the war years, it is necessary that we make our present equipment perform the service. To help us fulfill Canada's obligations, the Railways request that shippers and receivers of carload freight, load and unload their cars as rapidly as possible. r.nnn yen adc NEEDED TO RULE Practical Suggestions by Local Pastor in Sermon to Congregation Quoting as his text the exhortation of the priest, Jethro, to Moses: 'Thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men-of truth, hating covetousness to be rul er." Rev. A. P. MacSween, in 'his morning sermon at First Presbyterian Church yesterday, suggested that the peacetime era of justice and security which Imbued common men to work and fight In this war could not be attained arter the victory without participating in bringing ln about of all common men possessed of the spirit and purpose of God. Mr. MacSween de plored the all too common apathy of men who sat back and shunned politics as a "dirty business" with which eood men should not be associated. This attitude was not only turning, good men fro mthelr public responsibilities but was discouraging to good men who had assumed such responsibilities. 'The wonder is that, ln view of carping criticism and the general apathy, so many men do persist in conscientious effort ln the public effort." The responsibilities of peace i est contribution to the spiritual after victory might well be more lvalues of the world. 'e RAILWAY ASSOCIATION OF CANADA I New Naval Padre Head at "Chatham" Rev. W.
