On the Tuesday following Christmas the officer of the Women's Di vision entertained the various women who are engaged on administrative work at the American camp. This friendly contact was much appreciated by the guests who were greatly taken with the beautiful surroundings and comfortable quarters of the WD's. On Thursday the WD Officers again entertained at the tea hour, this time for the officers wives and various friends in Prince Rup-frt. The rooms were beautifully decorated for the Christmas season, full advantage being taken of the abundance of gieenery the surroundings sup ply. New Year's morning saw a re peat performance of the Dviama party so popular with the WD's on Christmas day. This time the girls' recreation lounge was decorated anew for the New Year with New Year's banners across the canteen and cedar wTeaths centied with large red bows in each window Th large centre table was laid with poinsettas, a gift of the girls to Flying Of-t'rer. Grahamc. bowls of red cheeked apples and golden tangerines arid the rich brown of nine cones against the green of fir boughs. On two side tab-'es were bacon and eggs and on nother coffee. The girls cooked :helr own breakfast as they officer's in the WD Officers Mess at a 'Come and On During this time those who had been away over Christmas were given their gifts "handshakes' and 'bundles". As a grand finish to a wonderful day all the W.D.s fere invited to a dinner and dance at our suburban American camp. Promptly at 5:30 a whole convoy of staff cars called for the girls who were thrilled and very much complimented by the luxury of 1 he conveyances which took them out to. the post. As the new snow had Just fallen the rip was a iiry all its own. The dinner dance was a marvel f clever organization and not. detail of the girls' comfort vas neglected, puf ing the eve-llg AW1 Gordon was elected "Miss 1944" amid much cheering and general good-will. Dance Enjoyed Highly Successful Affair By Prince Rupert Dry Dock Employees' Association. No less than seven hundred and fifty persons were In attendance at the main stall house dining hall on New Year's Eve when the Prince Rupert Dry Dock Employees' Association held its most successful dance to date. Permission was given by the city council last night to the Prince Rupert Civic Centre association to use the cltv council chamber for its annual meeting to be held on January 20, this providing It does not conflict with any requirements of city business.
