Here is the answer: "Honey can be used successfully to replace part or all of the sugar called for In a recipe. "If the amount of sugar called for is small, as in. muffins, an equal amount of honey may be used Instead. Where larger amounts of sugar are called for, as In cake, It Is better to replace only half of the sugar with honey. "Use one cup of honey to replace one cup of sugar and In baking reduce the liquid In the recipe by V4 cup fpr each cup of honey used. Don't use soda unless called for in the original recipe. "Liquid honey Is easier to measure and blend than granulated honey. Granulated honey may be liquified by setting the container In a pan of hot water. Here are some suggestions for Hallowe'en frolics: Cheese Crunch 1 cup grated cheese 1 cup finely shredded cabbage V teaspoon onion juice v2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce OR 1 to 2 tablespoons salad dressing Few grains cayenne pepper Salt and pepper to taste Combine Ingredients thoroughly and use as a sandwich spread with whole wheat bread. Yield: 3A cup. GINGERSNAPS 23 cup molasses Mi cup mild-flavored fat 2 cups sifted pastry flour OR Mi teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons ginger. 3,4 teaspoon salt Heatmolasses to boiling point and pour over fat. Add sifted Stem, wash und measure five cups of grapes, preferably the blue ones. Press pulp from the skins. Heat pulp to boiling point and boil gently for five minutes, then rub through a sieve to remove seeds, add skins to pulp and cook together for;, five mir. utes. Store in a covered Jar In the refrigerator where it will keep for several days. To use, blend Vi cup sugar, two tablespoons of cornstarch and a dash of salt with a little of the grape mixture, add to the remaining mixture and cook, stirring frequently until thick. Molasses Raisin 'Bars '4 cup mild-flavored fat Ms cup sugar 1 egg V4 cup molasses 2 cups whole wheat flour lV teaspoon salt Va teaspoon baking soda IV2 teaspoons baking powder teaspoon cinamon Va teaspoon nutmeg Ms cup sweet milk Cream fat, ad& sugar and cream well together. Add beaten egg, blending well, then add molasses. Mix dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to first mixture. Add chopped raisins. Spread thinly In a greased shal low pan, 15x10 inches. Bake while still warm.
