Music will be supplied by Frank Dutton's orchestra with George Korbet doing the voc.als. On Tuesday evening the first of our weekly cribbage parties will be held In the upstairs writing room. This will be handled by Johnnie Tarbet who Is well-known to all the Y. Under the direction of Guy Noakes an excellent program was presented at the Band Concert on Sunday evening. Particularly well received by the large audience was Musical Switch, conducted by the Guest Conductor, A. E. Tutte, Salvation Army supervisor stationed at the American Seamen's Club. Ralph Taylor, Maurice MacKay and Guy Noakes were featured in a clever arrangement of Trumpets Three. Announcements were by Bob Willett of CFPR. Saturday evening the Common Lounge became the scene of an Impromptu, evening of song when Cliff MacGorman of the Soo Suds began to play for the enjoyment of all. A large crowd soon gathered and a very pleasant hour was spent. Cliff Is very versatile and. plays entirely by ear. It is hoped that he will be a frequent visitor at the "Y" when the boys and girls gather round the piano In the Lounge. In the "V Gymnasium Tonight in the Gym the Navy and Soo Suds battle it out in the basketball playoff series. Soo Suds are in the lead by a 30-27 victory over Navy last Thursday and a stiff game is anticipated with both teams determined to be" the victorious combination. Senior officers of both services will be present to witness this important match. Bands will be in attendance and at half time a display of parallel bar gym- nasties will be presented. The last half of the game will be broadcast coming on the air at 7:30 pjn.
