The project has been the building of a children's playground suitable for kiddies of pre-school age. Two .sets of swings, a large sand play-box and a set of teeter-totters have been installed and on a fair day a large crowd of happy "customers" keeps the swings in motion from sun-up to sundown. An, indication of the popularity of the playground with the youngsters is the fact that the iron rings one one set swings have been worn right through and have already been replaced. A pleasing tidy effect has been obtained by enclosing the entire playground with a trim picket; fence painted a gay window-box green. The'project was conceived last winter by the Citizens Forum and a committee comprising j Bruce Barr, E. Haugland, Fred Gibb and George McAdams has been in charge of the work. All the lumber was donated by three sawmills while Chris. Hiiugland provided the cedar postc. Hardware, paint and other materials were donated by Johnson & Michiel and other local merchants assisted with cash donations. Hon. E. T. j Kenney wrote from Victoria to swell the subscription list with handsome cash donation. Jeff Lambly and Jack McLeod gave valuable help in hauling sanji other materials. In all a total of eighteen citizens gave their time and labor and a troup Boy Scouts, under direction Rev. Hills, cleaned the grounds of dangerous glass and rubbish. Next year the committee hopes add a slide and a shallow wading pool. The new playground is an addition of which Terrace may well feel proud and serves as a splendid example of what can be accomplished by united community effort. INCOME TAX Returns Prepared See R. E.
