V. Peters, former head of the United States Army's fire department here, realized his ambition a few days before he left Prince Rupert to return to his home at Laguna Beach, California. He ws moderately happy. He achieved the purpose of his final hunting trip by shooting a moose in the Topley district but then fate dealt him a backhand ed blow. He couldn't get the carcass out. Anyway, he photographed it as evidence to lay before his .skeptical firemen. Victim of his unerring marksmanship, the moose lay in the woods 22 miles from the highway. Loading the horns and as much meat as he could carry on his back. Mr. Peters struck out for civilization. Then he developed a "crick" in his knee which forced him to. put his burden in a tree and limp back empty-handed. One of his friends has gone to .bring in horns and meat. Mr. Peters and" family left Thursday night on the Prince Rupert to return to their' home at Laguna Beach. Bill Hunter Charles "Sunberg Foster Husoy James Taylor Peter Husoy Inge Valen James M.
