City fire department answered a call to McRae Brothers store. Third Ave., at noon Monday when they found the store filled with smoke as a result of faulty action of the furnace. Fire had crept along the feeder shaft from the furnace Into the hopper of the automatic stoker where It was smouldering when detected by the fire department. No damage resulted from the Incident. William Stone of Victoria, father of Francis Stone of the Booth Fisheries staff here, is paying a visit to the city and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Robertson. He arrived on Sunday night and will be returning south Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Fosshelm, be came the bride of Harold Joseph Schaeffer, son of Mrs. Schaeffer and the late Fred Schaeffer. Given In marriage by her father, the bride -was beautifully gowned In white frosted mar quisette with circular veil and wreath. Wearing lace gloves, she carried a shower bouquet of roses and carnations with streamers. Bridesmaid was Miss Yvonne Rlffou, prettily dressed In blue sheer with matrhing veil and gloves and carrying a bouquet of oink. and yellow carnations. Maid of honor was Miss Margaret Warner, in pink sheer and with matching accessories. She carried yellow and pink carnations. Dick Schaeffer and James Thompson acted as groomsmen. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was held at the home of the groom's mother. It was attended by members of the two families.
