The Prince Ruert Regiment will conduct a campaign for much needed new recruits next week. The Reserve Army has been assigned new and important responsibilities in the defence of this coast. There are vacancies in its ranks following the departure of former members to join the active forces or to leave the district. Many men in Prince Rupert are eligible to join the Reserve Army. Saying that suicidal raids on. this coast by small bands of Japanese as a "face saving" attempt were not out of the range of possibilities, General Pearkes declared: "If anything of nature happens, we must rely on men of the Reserve Army. The Reserve Army is not only essential but of supreme importance."
