SHORT SPORT Norway, too, is interested in British sports, and here is another of those "now it can be told" yarns. Several months ago with Norway still held by thj Germans, invitations' to British boxers and coaches to help revive boxing In the country were brought to the British Amateur Boxing ' Association by Major Proet Host, president of the Norwegian A. B. A. and serving with the Norwegian Army in Britain. News of Host's request was withheld for fear of reprisals against his relatives. Host said that Norwegian boxers had refused to box under German authority; Whenever the Nazis managed to collect a few "Quisling" boxers for an admission free show, It was boycotted. Patriot boxers had to train un derground. The level of form slumped. A visit by a British team in the near future would arouse terrific interest, Host said. British Instructors would find hundreds of Norwegians anxious to box "British style." The British A. B. A. has no set plans for post - war international matches but Norway Is high on the list. The King, seeking a racer that might win some of Britain's classic races next season, leased four yearlings from the National Stud. One Is a colt and the others are fillies and value of the four was estimated at $270,000. The colt Is by the 1939 Derby win ner, Blue Peter, out of Sun Chariot who was leased to the King by the National Stud and won the 1,000 Guineas, Oaks and St. Leuer for His Majesty in 19427 The Kins may lease two more colts from the stud.
