Although still excited, it did not take Mrs. Moore long to 'phone up the office to receive the personal assurance nr the editor that she was really the winner of a $500 prize in an American fiction magazine contest. She had not yet been advised personally and the first intimation of her good fortune came through reading the paper. "I am so excited I can hardly talk," Mrs. Moore said when the editor, newspapeaianllke, proceeded to ask personal questions. Mrs. Moore has been employed in t he Port Air Office of the United States Army here while her husband was serving with the Army, having come with the Edmonton Fusiliers and later"! Joining Prince Rupert Defences. He Is at present in Victoria to receive his discharge. "The $500 will come in extremely handy," said Mrs. Moore, who has an eight-year old son. "It will be added to the stake which we have for. a small rehabilitation scheme.
