More than 50 boys, ranging In age from 6 to 12 years old, were on hand at the "Y" gymnasium long before the stated hour. Their exuberance and energy was overwhelming, to say the least, and it was interesting to see them transformed from a crowd of undisciplined' youngsters into an organized .group of gymnasts-In-tralnlng. It was noticeable to the onlooker that the boys who have attended these classes for a few times are beginning to get a good idea of the exercises and are able to perform them quite ably. Enthusiasm for the games part of the program was unbounded and the boys competed eagerly in the relay races and other games. When the boys' class was over, the men's leaders' class went Into action. Six of the leaders are particularly outstanding, these being Dave Clark, Eric Freeman, BUI Collins, Denis O'Neill, Ted Parkhouse and Don Wilson. At the end of the session, a leaders' meeting was held and the problems In connection with future classes discussed. While the leaders' meeting was in progress, Mrs. Gogul handled the women's leaders' class for the evening. Everyons taking part In the classes Is displaying a most ln-SDlring enthusiasm and this augurs well for the future of the recreation movement in this city. BRITISH AUTOS VERY COSTLY LONDON, Oct. 13 &) Second hand car prices here are rising steadily, despite the basic gaso line curb on travel, and some prices are reported nearly double the amount first asked. At one garage a car originally priced at $440 had its price changed five times and now is tagged at 257 5s. Another, ad vertlsed for sale at 200, now is marked 383 5s. "Motorists have kept their cars in garages until recently and now demand exhorbitant prices for them," a salesman said. "In turn, we have to charge fantastic figures to make any profit at all." Meanwhile, the Ministry of War Transport announced that until the supply Increases, It is issuing permits to buy reconditioned cars only to nurses, mid-wives and disabled ex-servicemen (no less, than 25 per cent disability) who need a car for their jobs.
