A. Cheeseman to have come mighty close to it. During the school year from September to June the children of this grade, numbering thirty-six, saved $556 in war savings stamps and bought Victory Bonds to the tune of $350. Miss Mary D. Sim is the popular teacher of the class. It was also decided by the Gyros to sponsor la candidate in the bathing beauty contest leading to the "Miss America" finals, at Atlantic City. A committee consisting of W. F. Stone, A. Domi-nato, Frank Skinner and Frank Ryan was named in connection with the carnival queen cam paign. In view of the newly lzed Prince Rupert Recreational Council having taken over supervised playground activities this summer, the Gyro Club, in addition to having voted $50 per month, decided to make an additional $100 grant. Maurice Brydges was named the perman ent Gyro representative on the Recreational Council. James Parker was welcomed as a new member of the club and will be initiated later. Ernest Brown, member of the Trail Gyro Club, was a guest at the luncheon.
