Mr. and Mrs. William Gladstone of Kltkatla, arrived In the city on the Catala Sunday night Frank Whiting, Former Resident, Dead in Victoria A former Prince Itupert resident, Frank Whiting, died In a Victoria hospital on December 19 after an accident at a greenhouse where he was employed. Mr. Whiting was formerly an engineer here and was well known. It is the second death In the family within the year. On May 23, Lieut. Frank H. Whiting, the youngest son, was killed in action with the Seaforth Highlanders in Italy. Mr. Whiting Is survived by his .wife, one son, FSgt. David Whit ing, of Winnipeg; two daughters. iMrs. James Schray, Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Norman Mc-Ewen, Victoria, and three stepchildren, Mrs. James Sraallwood, Victoria, Robert Carter.
