THE DAILY NEWS Monday, August 20, 1945 TERRACE GROUP LAYS PLANS FOR CREDIT UNION TERRACE, Aug. 20 A warm interest In the idea of creating a credit union has taken hold of a number of residents of the district on the south side of the Skeena River, across from Ter race, and between 30 and 40 people have been attending study classes with the idea of getting a sound understanding of the principles of credit, unions. The group Is called the Lakelse Lake Study Group. "We're Interested In the Idea because we feel that, through credit unions, the people of this district may be able to help themselves out of difficulties without having to ask assistance from outside sources," says S G. Campbell, an enthusiastic member of the study group. "Not only that, but credit union funds may also assist some member to take advantage of opportunities which he might be forced to pass up without such help."
