When the war is over and battles cease, And the wings of war become doves of peace, When we take up our task and rebuild anew,' Will the hopes and the dreams of the world come true? Will the words of the 'Master,' by speech and pen, Proclaim, "Peace on earth, good will toward men!" Rendering thanks to the diety, Who has saved the world from iniquity. In treasure and blood, in sweat and tears,, Will we remember the years, The price that was paid to a world accursed, To bring to an end, the holocausi. And swear an oath, that never again, Will such horror occur, at thp hands of men? Will we strive together, with might and main To weld and strengthen the broken chain, And make of the world, a place secure, Where kindness, and love, and peace endure, Make of ,the earth, a bit of heaven, Where we can forgive, and be forgiven? , Keep green the memory, of those who lie, In their last long sleep, 'neath an alien sky. They have kept the faith, and the burning brand, Has been passed along, to another hand. Let us fan the flame, till it's clear and bright,-And make of the darkness, a place of light! Be true to the trust of those who lie, In the bosom of immortality! The burden Is ours, and the way is long, Let us face It with confidence and be strong, Remove the fear from the hearts of men, That want and dependence will come again. Make of our country, a place where we Will be happy in social security. That is the burden, and that is the task. The trumpet has sounded, the torch has been passed. "God bless our country!" Geophysicists Examine Ore Body Found In Northern Saskatchewan REGINA, Oct. 1 In the mineral fields of Saskatchewan's far north lies a source of atomic energy so far undeveloped an occurrence of pitchblende, the rare mineral from which uranium Is obtained, discovered In 1935' in the area between Cornwall and Fishhook Bays, about five miles east of Goldflelds. Uranium Is the key to atomic power, without It there would have been no atomic bomb such las blasted and devastated Hiro shima and Nagasaki and brought the war with Japan to an abrupt end. In addition, it Is prob ably the best tool for unlocking the secrets of power resources in other chemical elements. The pitchblende ore discovered in Saskatchewan was found by the late Joseph Errington on the property of Mineral Belt Locators' Syndicate, of which he was manager. At the site only a small quantity was found, but there were strong indications, evident to mineralogists, that pitchblende ore was present In greater quantities in that area. No development has so far been undertaken, and the size of the pitchblende deposit is not yet known. During the war a geophysical method for locating the ore was developed. Saskat chewan's natural resources de- termlne the extent of the pitchblende occurrences. A federal geological survey party was dispatched to map the Lake Athabaska area. Geophysicists examined the pitchblende find during the summer, DAVID Born to Mr. and Mr3. J. David, at the Prince Rupert General Hospital, September 28, a daughter, Colleen Jane.
