Such as thrills the heart of nature's childt Guarding mountains with snowy peaks And dark, evergreen, forest cheeks. Lying low, at the foot of the mountains, A deep receptacle for crystal fountains, Ripples the harbor-shimmering clear A veritable mirror throughout the year. j City, forest and army camp meet To. form one continuous, hilly street. Muskeg, soggy, sour and soft, Turned Into smiling flower gardens oft. Streets of plank and sidewalks of rocks . Wearily trod from ocean and dry docks: Laborers and slght-seers often mount Long flights of steps too numerous to count; Wartime cottages, row- on row, Green, blue, red, or golden glow, Across the hilltops and down to the spring In the forest valleys, the houses cling. Radiant sunsets In splendor gleaming, O'er the great orb their colors streaming. Flame, purple, mauve, crimson and pink, Amber, orange, gold and yellow I think. There never was sunset half so sublime, With twilight till midnight in summertime, Nor such soft, fleecy, fascinating clouds, Nor dark, awe-inspiring, mountain shrouds. Our months of rain make some lives dreary; But, our glorious rainbows rejoice the weary. No thunderpeals rend the mountains high; No lightnings flash through livid sky. Boating, fishing and hiking for all, In winter and spring, summer and fall. Harbor, rapid, beach and basin Always afford a restful vacation. Home of the raven with raucous shout; And the bald-headed eagles soaring about. Merry brown thrush! We hear his call, From dawn to dark, singing to all. Of lovely Prince Rupert on the Island of Kalen, Whose scenery Is charming in sunshine and rain, With shores ever washed by the North Pacific, 111 cherish sweet memories, deep and prolific. Farewell, dear Prince Rupert! for I must go To my sugar maples and drifts of snow. But when back-in Ontario I dream by our fountains I shall often pine for your harbor and mountains. A. J. Cronln's heartwarming and provocative story, which is being featured at the Capitol Theatre here this Thurs day, Friday and Saturday. The story Is that of a good and brave man who travelled many roads through many lands In search for a secret of happiness. It Is the story of the girl he loved and his desire to protect her frailtyas opposed to his strong desire to devote his life to the church. It Is the story of an Austrian -born aristocrat too proud and Intollerant to recognize the greatness of a simple man. The Incidents leading up to an understanding among these people make powerfully dramatic moments. The locale moves from England to Scotland and o nto China where a mission becomes a battlefield. Gregory Peck, a comparative newcomer, plays the part of the central character. Thomas Mitchell Is an atheist doctor; Vincent Price, a smug youth who becomes an ambitious bishop; Rosa Stradner, the Austria aristocrat; Roddy McDowall, the hero as a boy; Edmund Gwenn as a bishop; Sir Cedrlc Hard-wicke as another church digna-tory, and Peggy Ann Garner as the heroine when a child and Jane Ball when a woman. Also In the cast are James Gleason, Anne Revere, Ruth Nelson, Benson Fong and Leonard Strong.
