On July 1 Ketchikan came down and everyone went to the ball game. One July 4 all the stores closed their doors and most of the population went with the ball team to enjoy the return game at Ketchikan where the game commenced as soon as the tide rolled out far enough to permit a diamond toeing laid out on the beach. Sandy also had a hand in arranging one of the first boxing matches to toe held In Prince Rupert. In that scrap "One Round" Nelson kayoed Pacific Coast light weight champion Johnny O'Leary.
