While it may be a little hectic for some of us who jinay Ibe more or less interested in receiving them, littis -'welcome change after the war years during !which the visitors were few and far between, the ; entertainment, for those who came practically nil. We will have to be putting our best foot forward piow and, while there will be many more coming than we will be able to give personal attention to, j we will .have to be re-learning our1 lessons of cour-j tesy and service. j Many visitors will be here and it is necessary ' that we should be out -to make as good an impres-Ision as Possible. It is something on which we should ! all concentrate. f. (. j f WE CELANESE MILL IMPORTANT OFFICIALS and engineers of the . Celahese Corporation of America are due in Prince Rupert today and, following their visit, expectation is that actual operations on the site of the great new mill projected for Port Edward will j ensue.. It is two months now since the original an-j nouncement was made. Since then there has, doubt-J less, been concentrated final activity looking to j plant construction work. All of which takes time I and careful planning. After all, what are a few weeks in an industrial undertaking of such magniture and importance? V y j RAINES CUT-OFF TOO IN. THE MAP we published last week illustrating the projected new TransCanada Highway system j from Winnipeg through Saskatoon, Edmonton, k Yellowhead Pass and on to Prince Rupert might well have been incorporated the Haines cut-off i from the Alaska Highway to Lynn Canal whence ; there would be the much-discussed ferry through J the Inside Passage to Prince Rupert., ; In fact, the significance of the Haines cut-off ; and the Inside Passage ferry was very apparent, ; to those who studied the map with these aspects in view. j j Itvis interesting to note that there is also a re-I vaval In. the Haines cut-off route agitation. ; T "f.; CANCER DRIVE ENDS ON THE HEELS of the annual Red Cross RIGHT campaign for funds and amid various other ap-J peals and solicitations, the Canadian Cancer ' Society called upon Its local branch to carry out a drive for funds which has just been concluded now. With "a few returns yet expected, it is announced J that a total of $2200 has been achieved. This falls short of the admittedly high objective of ?4000 which was set for Prince Rupert but those who handled the drive, the chairman, Mrs. J. D. Fraser, particularly, may well feel some satisfaction over 1 the result. They worked hard and faithfully in a worthy cause. tRACTOR USEFUL itfN Q.C. ' VI, ARCHDEACON AT (UNITED CHURCH Morning Ssrvlce First United Church Jeremiah and the parable of the Potter was the subject of Arch Deacon Hodson's sermon when he conducted a guest service at the First United Church Sunday morning. In the potter's molding of clay Jeremiah saw a striking similarity to the handiwork of Ood as He worked with men and nations. If a flaw appeared In a vessel the potter was turning on his wheel he must remove the clay, remix it and try again. So it was with God and men. He molded men tout often a blemish in the form of sin appeared. But Ood and only Ood could remove the stain from man.s soul. Though man may sink to the very lowest level he might sUll reach the very heights If he would but submit himself to the hands of Ood.
