Its members want to paint the Museum building The disciplines obviously necessary when a group of young, non-professional painters are turned loose with brushes and paint pots have yet to be worked out. The Idea was laid before a gleefully receptive membership last night by Junior Chamber rres:aert A. P. Crawley, who found It necessary to warn that this was part of a civic beautl- ncaiion campaign and not. a holiday for frustrated, artists. I The scheme was embraced 1 ardently by Tourist Committee Chairman Al Manson who reported to the meeting that the museum building, which for merly was the library building on Second Avenue, also has been chesen 'for tourist headquarters this year by the Public Relations Council. Everyone agreed that for a museum and tourist headquarters, the. building looked drab indeed. Plainly, a colorful garment of paint was ine answer. Such details as arrangements for paint supplies. and scaffolding were turned, over to the cham-ber executive to be worked out with the city authorities.
